There are times I feel as though I am barely visible to anyone. And that is okay with me. In fact, sometimes it is my preference.

That's a great effect - very "gauzy" (or should I say "gauzzy"? :) )
I like it when people do something interesting with their Self-Portraits, very nice!
I often prefer to be nearly invisible, myself. I'm kind of a 'behind-the-scenes' person who likes to contribute, but not always in obvious ways. Though, I do like for my contribution to be acknowledged (don't we all?).
When I saw your link, I couldn't wait to see what you'd come up with because I love the word "diaphanous." :-) Your photo is very cool...very ethereal! (Another word I love.)

I really like this. It really looks dreamy. My picture this week is also almost invisable like this...
